SMYRNA, TN (WSMV/AP) -
Officials have identified the two people killed after a small plane that departed from Smyrna crashed Wednesday into a wooded area in northern Indiana.
The Cirrus SR 22 aircraft crashed sometime between 11 a.m. and noon about one mile southeast of the Gary-Chicago International Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Lake County coroner Merrilee Frey said Friday she used dental records to identify the remains of Vincent Vaccarello and Patsy Crisafi. Both were Florida residents, but no other information on the victims has been released.
Aviation officials haven't yet released any information about what caused the crash.
The single-engine plane was registered to Gandy AIR LLC in St. Augustine, FL.
