NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A truck driver pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of two Nashville women more than a decade ago.

Kenneth Ray Davis, 55, was indicted a month ago on a charge of second-degree murder in the March 1999 strangulation death of 55-year-old Jackie F. Pelham.

Pelham, who lived on North Second Street, was found dead in an alley behind the 800 block of Stockell Street after police received a report that a woman had been dumped in the alley from a vehicle. DNA evidence linked Davis to the homicide.

Davis had been jailed since June 22, 2011, in the death nearly 12 years ago of Christina Yvonne Parham, whose nude body was found Dec. 1, 2000, on the side of the road in the 1500 block of Dugger Drive in East Nashville.

Parham, 25, who lived on Granada Avenue, appeared to have been pushed or pulled from a vehicle. The medical examiner determined she died of asphyxiation.

Police said evidence recovered from Parham's body linked Davis with the homicide.

Davis' DNA, which was collected due to a aggravated rape conviction in Shelby County, was found to be a match in the 2000 case.
