UNIONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Investigators believe that alcohol played a factor in a Bedford County crash that claimed the life of one teenager and left another teen injured.

The wreck happened just before midnight Friday on Halls Mill Road in Unionville.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Adam Wortham, 19, lost control of his pickup at a curve in the road.

He overcorrected and the pickup overturned on the side of the road.  Wortham and his passenger Kevin Spence, 17, were both ejected from the vehicle.

Wortham did not survive.  Spence was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Sunday morning.

Investigators with the THP believe both teens were under the influence of alcohol.  The official accident report also indicates that speed was a factor.  Neither teen was wearing a seatbelt.
