HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A former school bookkeeper in Sumner County is headed to jail for stealing from the school and its photography vendor.

Penny Knight pleaded guilty Thursday in connection with the case.

She admitted she embezzled more than $19,000 from Beech Elementary by swapping checks.

A state audit revealed Knight used the money to pay personal bills, buy electronics, groceries and other items.

The judge sentenced her to 90 days in jail and six years probation.
