Police in Hendersonville said an armed man held a woman and her 11-year-old son against their will in a home for several hours early Saturday.
According to Sgt. Robert Fohrd, the ordeal began around 1:30 a.m. at a home on White Oak Court.
Police said a witness spotted a note and a key on the door of the house.
Police said the note said the woman and her son were being held against their will inside by a man with a knife. The witness called 911.
When officers arrived, they made contact with the female victim through a second story window. Police said she provided officers with a key to the front door and advised the armed man was sitting in a recliner just inside the door.
At about 8:30 a.m., officers made entry into the home and took the man into custody.
Officers identified the man as Tod E. Thomen, 42. Thomen was arrested and charged with violation of an order of protection, aggravated assault (domestic), aggravated kidnapping and especially aggravated kidnapping.
