CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

An attempted child abduction in Clarksville has police searching for the attacker.

On Friday around 6:30 p.m., investigators said three children ages 7 to 10 years old were playing in a wood lined area near their homes on Cabana Drive.

A man pulled up in a pick up truck and grabbed a 10-year-old girl and tried to drag her with him.

One of the other children started to scream, and the man fled. Officers searched the area, spoke with residents, but no adults witnessed the incident.

Based on the information from the children, police are looking for a newer four-door Chevy pickup, charcoal gray with large tires, a possible lift kit, dark tinted windows, an eagle sticker on the upper driver side corner of the windshield and red writing or lettering on the back window.

The man was described as older white male, in his 50s or 60s, with gray hair which is thinning or balding, and wearing a gray T-shirt and dark blue jeans.
