Predators believe NHL lockout will be short

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Representatives with the Nashville Predators said Friday they believe the ongoing NHL lockout will be short lived, and they're confident the season will begin soon.

Team president Sean Henry told the Nashville Sports Authority he doesn't believe the NHL lockout will go on very long.

The team said it won't layoff or furlough employees at this time. There are plans to book smaller events in the arena if the lockout does stretch on.

Bridgestone Arena upgrades?

At the meeting, the Predators also outlined on how to upgrade the 15-year-old Bridgestone Arena.

Some of the ideas included a large video wall monitor on the plaza facing Broadway and an overhauled Demonbreun Street entrance to take advantage of the new Music City Center's location.
