NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A suspect was arrested Thursday after a woman was found beaten to death in an alley earlier this month.
Napoleon Harvey is charged with killing 39-year-old Stephanie Alexander.
Two weeks ago a man was mowing at 5th Avenue near Buchanan Street when he discovered Alexander's body Sept. 5.
During an interview with detectives, police said Harvey admitted to killing Alexander after an argument inside his car.
The state issued a parole violation warrant against Harvey on the afternoon of Sept. 5 for a driving under the influence conviction.
Police said Harvey was sentenced to 50 years for robbery in 1983 and paroled in 2006.
