NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Police have identified the suspect wanted in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man outside an Antioch motel last month.
Ronald McCallum, 18, who is last known to have lived on Starboard Court, is sought on a murder warrant after the Sept. 21 shooting outside the Knights Inn on Bell Road.
Abanzer Tsegaye, 21, died after police said he and a friend went to the motel parking lot just before 10:30 p.m. to buy marijuana.
Police said the sellers arrived in either a 2006 or 2007 model, dark red or maroon Nissan Altima, possibly with an Illinois license plate, and shots were fired from inside the car after Tsegaye handed cash to the front seat passenger.
Investigators identified McCallum as a suspect in the shooting. He had been out of jail at the time of the shooting on $15,000 bond following a felony marijuana arrest in January and failed to appear for a Sept. 26 hearing on that charge.
Anyone who has seen McCallum or knows anything about his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
