Veteran Clarksville broadcaster fired from job

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man that Montgomery County residents have heard on the radio for decades is now off the air.

Hank Bonecutter was fired on Tuesday from his longtime job at WJZM-AM radio.

Bonecutter has been a personality for about 40 years and has owned the radio station for the last 18.

He sold it last month to a group of friends with the intention of staying on air with "The Bone Show" and "Clarksville in Review" through the end of the year.

However, the new owners decided to go in a different direction, letting the veteran broadcaster go. Bonecutter said he has no ill will about the decision.

"I've seen it all, I've heard it all, I've reported it all. I have no regrets. I had a blast. Now, I just don't have to get up so early in the morning," Bonecutter said.

He said he's going to miss the people he's worked with over the years and wants the radio station to remain an important part of the community.

Bonecutter said he plans to continue with his websites, advertising and consulting work.
