Father accused of threats after visiting elementary school

ASHLAND CITY, TN (WSMV) -

A father is facing criminal charges after he tried to see his son at school.

Police arrested Robert Wilson for criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

School officials at Ashland City Elementary reported Wilson became angry last Tuesday because he wanted to go to his son's classroom.

When officials asked him to calm down and explained to him their new visitors' policy, school leaders said Wilson threatened to drive his truck through the school and started walking toward the classroom.

The principal stopped him and later took out a warrant.

Cheatham County school leaders said their policy does not deny parents access to their children, but all visitors need to have an appointment.
