Police: TN 4-year-old hit on head with stick dies - WSMV Channel 4

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Homicide investigators in Memphis say they are looking into the death of a 4-year-old who was hit on the head with a stick while he was playing in the yard with another child.
Police said in a news release Thursday that the 4-year-old died Tuesday at LeBonheur Children's Hospital, one week after the incident.
Investigators say the 4-year-old's father told them the child was playing in the front yard of their home when another juvenile joined him. The father said he saw the second juvenile strike the 4-year-old on the head with a stick.
Police say the victim went into a coma after being taken to the hospital, where he later died.
