MTSU conference to discuss region's economics

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

Folks who want to participate in the annual Economic Outlook Conference at Middle Tennessee State University have until Friday to register.

Organizers said professionals in fields such as banking, business and economics, as well as students and community members interested in the economic growth of the region are expected to attend the half-day conference set for Sept. 21 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro.

"The Economic Outlook Conference is an excellent opportunity for anyone in business or governmental positions to learn about what is going on locally, regionally and nationally," Dr. Jim Burton, dean of the MTSU College of Business, said in a news release.

Greg Gonzales, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions, is scheduled to join economic leaders as featured speakers for the 20th annual event.
