NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A Japanese newspaper reports that production of the Nissan Murano SUV may be moved to Smyrna's Nissan plant in 2014.
The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun newspaper, a business paper that reports on the manufacturing industry, reported Nissan would be moving to a system to move some auto production to the area where most of the vehicles were purchased.
According to the report, nearly 70 percent of Murano sales were in North America.
Currently the Murano is produced at plants located in Japan, Russia and China.
