NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Two men were arrested after a company doing a background check discovered the temporary employees may have had illegal IDs.

Francisco Ramirez-Teletor, 35, and Melvin Adonay Garcia-Beltran, 31, were arrested by the Tennessee Highway Patrol after it was determined that the driver's license number and printed names on their IDs did not match the driver's license database.

The facility manager of CEVA Logistics was conducting background checks on all employees when he discovered what appeared to be fake IDs held by the workers.

According to police records, Ramirez-Teletor and Garcia-Beltran both told authorities, with the use of an interpreter, that they were in the country legally and the document was fraudulent. Both said they obtained the IDs in Puerto Rico.

According to affidavits, both Ramirez-Teletor and Garcia-Beltran became uncooperative with officials.

Both suspects were charged with forgery and criminal simulation (fraud) and are being held on $20,000 bond. Their initial court date is set for Sept. 17.
