NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police officers discovered a 10-month-old baby in the backseat of a car stopped after a high-speed chase from Springfield to Nashville Friday night.

Springfield police told the Robertson County Times the infant's father, Brian Kizer, 23, of Antioch, was taken into custody and charged with the aggravated robbery of Warehouse Liquors.

Police said the pursuit began just before 8 p.m. after a Springfield police officer spotted a gray vehicle matching the description of a car wanted in connection with a possible business burglary.

Later, police said they realized the car was possibly connected to a holdup at the liquor store.

The police officer followed the vehicle down Tom Austin Highway and Highway 431, through Joelton into the Nashville city limits, police said.

Metro police assisted with capturing Kizer on Brick Church Pike, deploying spike strips to disable the vehicle.

Officers discovered Kizer's infant in the backseat and placed the baby in the mother's custody.

The child was not injured.

Kizer was also charged with felony endangerment.
