NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
The state is extending hours at some driver testing centers to help people who need photo IDs to vote.
Eight centers across the state will be open on the first Saturday of October and November.
Middle Tennessee has two locations and they are The Center of Centennial Boulevard in Davidson County and the center on Jefferson Avenue in Cookeville.
A new state law requires a federal or state-issued photo ID to vote at the polls.
The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 6 and Nov. 3.
