NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man was injured when his home was struck by lightning and several communities reported flash flooding Wednesday as a series of severe storms moved through Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.

On Thursday morning, a tree was in the road and a wire was down on Little Hamilton and Merritt avenues just southeast of downtown Nashville.

Trees were also blocking roads on Natchez Trace at the Williamson County line.

The storms packed heavy downpours, damaging winds and large hail as the storms produced rain rates of 4" to 6" per hour.

In Hickman County, a man was on his computer when lightning struck his home on Pinewood Road.

Weather spotters reported flooding four miles northwest of Lebanon, with 4" to 6" of water on many roads, and strong winds associated with these storms caused a tree limb to fall on a moving vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Macon County.

Other storm reports include trees and power lines down in Hickman and Dickson counties.
