HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Hendersonville police arrested a 24-year-old mother Saturday after her child was left in a car that was running in the parking lot of an extended living complex.

Authorities responded to the InTown Suites Extended Stay Living, located at 1017 West Main Street, around 4 p.m. after a complaint of an infant being left in a running vehicle.

When officers arrived they found a running vehicle that contained the child.

Several minutes later Jessica Farris came to the vehicle, but did not have a key to the car since they were locked inside.

Police later learned that the child had been inside the vehicle for two hours.

Farris was arrested on charges of child abuse and neglect and taken to the Sumner County Jail.

Her bond was set at $10,000 with a court date of Sept. 12.

The child was unharmed during the incident.
