MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - A Middle Tennessee State University senior has created a new bright color-coded sign pointing to the various sections of the James E. Walker Library.

Graphic design major John Edmondson told The Daily News Journal he patterned the signs after old highway direction signs that used to point the way on roads.

Edmondson started out as a middle-school doodler who made stickers to an aspiring motion graphics artist. Edmondson said he wants to design television ads and intros for commercial TV programs when he graduates in summer 2013.

Edmondson said he was looking for a summer job when he applied at the library got an interview "everyone else was sick that day."

The signs were installed on Aug. 24. A key to the color-coding is located in the first-floor atrium.
