HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Emergency crews in Hendersonville rescued four boaters early Sunday after receiving a distress call from Old Hickory Lake.

The boaters called 911 at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday after their boat hit a tree and began taking on water.

Emergency crews from Nashville and Sumner County launched search efforts near Old Hickory Dam.

The boaters bailed water for about an hour before crews found them near Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville.

An officer with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency told Channel 4 News that alcohol did not appear to be a factor and that investigators did not plan to issue any citations.

The boat owner, who did not want to be identified, said the damaged boat was brand new.
