NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A 22-year-old woman training to be a Metro officer was arrested early Friday morning and charged with driving under the influence.
Police said Courtney Perry was driving her 2012 Mini Cooper when an officer saw the vehicle travel off an embankment on McMillin Street near Church Street at 3:30 a.m.
Perry then almost turned the wrong way on a one-way street, traveled through a red light and was almost struck by a pickup truck that had the right-of-way.
Police said she was pulled over at Church Street and George L. Davis Boulevard, smelled strongly of alcohol and showed indicators of impairment on three field sobriety tasks.
Perry agreed to a breath test and registered .198 percent. A judicial commissioner set Perry's bond at $2,000.
Perry entered the police academy July 3.
