NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A woman was killed in a crash on Whites Creek Pike early Saturday and another was sent to hospital.
The wreck happened at about 12:30 a.m. when a car hit a utility pole, snapping it in two.
According to Metro police, Candice Sanders, 23, lost control of the car. The passenger side of the car hit the utility pole. Requisha Jones, 23, was the front seat passenger, and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she later died.
Sanders and a back seat passenger, Jamaica Erwin, 19, were transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Toxicology tests will be performed to see if drugs or alcohol played a factor. No charges have been filed, but the investigation is still continuing.
