NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Before he lost his battle with leukemia, a special teen had one simple request that will now help other kids just like him pass the time while undergoing treatment.
Chad Crabtree, 15, who passed away in April, wanted a set of new televisions for the cancer center at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, where he lived his last two years.
His mother said Chad was a big fan of watching TV and playing XBox games, and now, thanks to Make-A-Wish of Middle Tennessee, many more kids will be able to do the same.
"He couldn't think of anything he really wanted to do or anywhere he really wanted to go. So, this was just something that he had stated way back when we started coming up here, that he wanted new TVs for everybody," said mother Shannon Vickers.
Make-A-Wish will install 11 flatscreen TVs in Chad's memory.
The TVs were donated by the Ayers Foundation and Turner Construction.
