Suspect named in fatal East Nashville bar shooting

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police are searching for a 49-year-old man in the fatal shooting of a Mississippi man at an East Nashville bar early Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred at the Hard Times Bar & Grill on Dickerson Pike at about 12:35 a.m. Thursday.

Keith L. Gaston, 29, of Yazoo City, MS, was sitting on a stool when someone approached and shot him. Gaston died at the scene, and the gunman walked out of the bar.

Police are looking for Nashville resident Phillip Morton, who is last known to have lived on Baptist World Center Drive. Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

The motive for the shooting is unclear, police said.
