Driver cited after smashing into Bellevue house

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A driver was found inside a car that had crashed into a Bellevue house about five hours earlier.

Police said the wreck occurred around 1 a.m. at a home at 7460 Highway 70 South, which is near the intersection with Bellevue Road. 

At around 6 a.m., police said a neighbor saw the car with the driver, identified as Robert Leavenworth, 26, of Sunset Place, still inside passed out.  No one was at the home when the wreck occurred.

Leavenworth was not hurt and passed a field sobriety test.  However, he was cited by police for driving on a revoked license and a traffic citation for no proof of insurance.

He was previously arrested and convicted of driving under the influence in May.

The homeowner said he's lived at the address since 1979 and vehicles have hit his house multiple times.
