NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
General Motors is recalling nearly 250,000 SUVs due to a fire risk.
The recall covers 2006 and 2007 models of the Chevy Trailblazer, Buick Rainier, GMC Envoy, Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender originally sold or now registered in snow belt states.
According to documents posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website, the vehicles could have a short circuit in the power window and lock controls in the driver's door that can result in a fire.
GM says salty water from the road salt can cause corrosion, leading to the short circuit.
