Crews were still working Friday evening to restore electricity for some folks who lost power in Thursday night's storms.
The wind, rain and hail brought down trees and power lines across the area. At its peak, more than 34,000 Nashville electric customers lost power.
And as of 9 p.m. Friday, about 1,000 people remained in the dark in Nashville.
But it wasn't severe weather that caused a large power outage Friday evening in Clarksville - it was a squirrel.
The furry animal got into a substation and shorted it out, affecting electricity for about 13,000 customers.
The outage also meant one of Friday's high school football games had to be postponed. Montgomery Central will host Clarksville Academy on Saturday afternoon instead.
No word on the fate of the squirrel.
