FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - CIA Director David Petraeus returned to Fort Campbell to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the famed 101st Airborne Division, a unit he once led in combat in Iraq.
The retired four-star general also on Friday spoke at the retirement ceremony for Command Sgt. Maj. Marvin Hill, 1 of his closest military partners who served as his senior enlisted leader in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Thousands of troops have been celebrating the division's history this week at the installation on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line, even as its troops prepare for upcoming deployments to Afghanistan.
Petraeus was jovial during his visit, telling jokes and stories about his time in the Army and leading several rounds of the Army battle cry, "Hooah!"
