MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -
A grandfather who was cited for leaving his 3-year-old grandson alone in a car in Murfreesboro is explaining why it happened.
James Reehl told the Daily News Journal that he "had a momentary lapse in judgment."
Police cited Reehl Tuesday night with a misdemeanor.
They said he left the child unattended in his sport-utility vehicle outside the Kroger on Lascassas Pike.
Reehl has apologized for his mistake and actually thanked police for charging him.
