LEWISBURG, TN (WSMV) -
Detectives in Marshall County want to know who killed a carpenter and then tried to cover it up by burning his remains.
Police say John Poteete's body was found Tuesday on a mattress in a shed behind his home on Franklin Avenue.
The victim's remains were taken to the state crime lab in Nashville for analysis.
Poteete's family said he had become a carpenter after he lost his leg several years ago in an accident at the Tyson food plant in Shelbyville.
