PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Jack White went where rock stars don't usually go when they come to Portland.

He went to the laundromat, and he brought his guitar with him.

The former frontman of The White Stripes put on a surprise concert for a packed house at City Laundry, 1414 N.W. Glisan St.

His record label, Third Man Records, announced it on Twitter just before the show got under way Wednesday afternoon.

The record label said on its website that White has been doing a number of "B shows" at surprise locations in the towns where he has a scheduled concert.

He is set to perform at the Rose Quarter Theater of the Clouds Wednesday night.
