For folks living in East Tennessee, drinking water straight out of the tap has never tasted so good.
Maynardville, a small town in Union County, near Knoxville, may have the tastiest water in Tennessee.
A panel of judges voted Maynardville as number one out of 230 water utilities across the state. The votes were based on the water's clarity, smell and of course, taste.
"I have no idea why it taste so good," said Jack Rhyne, the Maynardville city manager. "But it does. It's from a spring. It's crystal clear. It's cold. And it's very tasty. It's good water."
In February, Maynardville's water could be picked as the best in the United States. It'll be entered in the best tasting water in America competition in Washington D.C.
