LEBANON, TN (WSMV) -
Property taxes could be on the rise in Wilson County.
The Wilson Post reports the county commission will vote on a 22-cent increase at the end of the month.
The county said the extra money is needed for schools and the general fund. If approved, the rate would increase from $2.50 to $2.72.
The extra money would help fund pay raises, hire six new sheriff's department employees, pay for fuel and equipment and build a new Watertown High School.
A vote will be held Aug. 27.
