BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

State Police say single-car crash involving a possible rolling meth lab on Old Jefferson led to five arrests, including two escapees from Tennessee.

According to reports, around 3 a.m. Wednesday, Anthony Turner, 18, was driving a car with Jordyn O'Neal, 18, as a passenger when the car ran off the road, hit a utility pole and overturned.  Turner was thrown from the vehicle in the crash.  Both tried to flee the scene after the crash, but were arrested by EBR sheriff's deputies.

Investigators say they found a bag with a white powdery substance inside emitting a vapor, as well as a bag of items used to make meth inside the car.

Residents in the area were kept in their homes until a haz-mat crew was able to clear the scene.

While investigating the crash, troopers learned the wrecked car had been reported stolen from Humphreys County, TN by two escapees.

The two escapees, Dustin Allen, 26, and Justin Jones, 24, were arrested with Zachary Kuhlmann, 22, who was wanted in Livingston Parish on domestic abuse charges.  The three men were caught near the Rave Theater on Hatteras Ave.

Allen and Jones walked away from a work detail in Tennessee at the end of July.  Allen was serving eight years for making meth and Jones was serving three years for violation of probation.

Turner has been charged with DWI, possession of stolen property, reckless operation, hit and run and no seatbelt.  O'Neal has been charged with possession of stolen property and will be booked into parish prison when released from the hospital.  Both could face more charges, pending the outcome of a report from the LSP Crime Lab.
