Metro schools among state priority list for improvement
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
State educators have released the list of Tennessee schools they say are underperforming, and many of them are in Nashville.
The Department of Education classifies schools ranking in the bottom 5 percent of overall performance as "priority schools."
Local schools in the priority list include: Bailey Middle School, Brick Church Middle School, Buena Vista Elementary Enhanced Option, Gra-Mar Middle School, Napier Elementary Enhancement Option and Smithson-Craighead Middle School.
State officials said among the options for improving scores at these schools are placement in the state-run achievement school district or a district-led innovation zone.
