GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -

On July 29, inmate Antone Golliday was involved in a fight at the Sumner Co. jail in a cell with other inmates.

About six officers rushed to break up the fight. One officer's nose was broken in the process.

Correction Officer Chris Troutman in an apparent act of retaliation, took inmate Golliday's head and hit it against the floor.

When supervisors were reviewing the fight on tape and saw Troutman hit Golliday, they fired Troutman on Aug. 1.

Golliday was in jail on charges of theft over $5,000, aggravated burglary, vandalism and possession of burglary tools.
