NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Two women are recovering after being attacked by two men in a home invasion and robbery in south Nashville early Monday morning.

Investigators were called to a home in the 2200 block of Sadler Avenue just after 3 a.m.

Police said one of the women at the home was asleep when she was awakened by two men who entered through the front door, which was unlocked.

Investigators said the woman was assaulted and made demands for items inside the home. While this was occurring, the victim's roommate arrived.

"The second victim showed up at the house.  They also took her, and she was assaulted during the burglary.  The two suspects took property from the females inside the home and then went through their vehicle parked in the driveway," said Metro police Capt. Ken Walburn.

Police said the two masked men then fled on foot.
