PULASKI, TN (WSMV) -
The director of schools in Giles County is stepping down.
Tee Jackson read his letter of retirement during the school board's meeting Thursday.
The surprise announcement comes after a round of controversy in which a clerical error caused the district to spend tens of thousands of dollars it didn't really have.
There was no discussion of Jackson's replacement after he retires on Sept. 30.
