Elmwood Cemetery in Springfield, TN
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Nashville and much of Middle Tennessee is under an elevated threat for severe weather on Thursday.
Storms that moved through the area this morning caused torrential downpours and prompted severe thunderstorms warnings in Davidson and other counties.
Several large trees were uprooted by a storm at the Elmwood Cemetery in Springfield, TN. An office building and two cars were damaged.
Trees and powerlines were also down along Central Avenue in Springfield. Dime-sized hail was also reported with the storm.
White House, TN, received about nine tenths of an inch of rain from the storms.
The storms could bring strong winds, hail and lightning.
There is a moderate threat of straight-lined winds at speeds of 60 mph, said 4 WARN Meteorologist Paul Heggen. There is a very low threat of tornadoes.
Rain will linger on Friday morning but dissipate by the afternoon. Temperatures will only be in the low 80s Friday and Saturday with lows in the 60s.
