SMITHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Detectives are still trying to figure out why two men were murdered in DeKalb County.
Investigators made the gruesome discovery Tuesday afternoon at a house on Tommy Harrell Street after they got a 911 call from a neighbor.
When officers arrived, they found one man had been gunned down inside the house. Another man was found shot to death outside, and his body was then buried underneath a debris pile near the residence.
Police said they were still trying to notify the victims' families. That's why they have not released their names yet.
We're told investigators are also following up on leads for a possible suspect. There is still no word yet on what the motive may have been.
