CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A 2-year-old boy has drowned after falling into his family's swimming pool in Clarksville. It happened Sunday at a home on Merritt Lewis Lane.
Police say the child, Jerell McKinney, managed to sneak outside while his grandparents were still asleep. The boy started playing with his dogs near the pool area when he fell in.
Police say the home had a video security system and the footage appears to show McKinney fell while trying to put the family puppies into the pool to swim.
Investigators are calling the incident a tragic accident.
