Titans lose Amano for the season

Posted: Updated:

Titans head coach Mike Munchak announced Center Eugene Amano will have surgery to repair a torn triceps muscle he suffered in practice and will miss the entire NFL season.

Amano started all 16 games for Tennessee last season. He was competing with Fernando Velasco for the starting job this year. Now Velasco will be the front-runner at that position, with Kevin Matthews also competing for time.

The Titans signed free-agent Chris Morris to the roster Saturday. Morris is a 5-year NFL veteran at center/guard, but last appeared in a game in 2010 with the Carolina Panthers.
