FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

Police in Franklin are searching for a man who broke into a antique store and stole around $80,000 in merchandise early Thursday morning.

At 1:30 a.m., a masked man broke into the Antiques at the Factory located at 230 Franklin Rd.

The robber shattered the glass of the store's front door and headed for a case where antique rings were on display.

Using a hammer, he stole numerous pieces of merchandise with a combined value around $80,000.

Detectives said a man who was inside the business about 11 hours earlier on Wednesday, around 2:30 p.m., may be a person of interest in the case.
