OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An airman from Spring Hill has died at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
Tinker spokesman Brion Ockenfels said Thursday that Airman First Class David M. Walker II died Tuesday in his dormitory room on base. He was 20 years old.
Ockenfels says the exact cause of Walker's death is under investigation.
Walker was assigned to the 552nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Tinker and worked as a crew chief on the E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System, or AWACS, aircraft.
Ockenfels says Walker joined the military on Oct. 5, 2010. He hadn't been previously deployed overseas.
Walker's awards include the Outstanding Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Air Force Training Ribbon.
Family members say he graduated high school in Spring Hill.
