Runway extension approved for Murfreesboro Airport

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

The Rutherford County Planning Commission has approved a runway extension at the Murfreesboro Airport.

The runway will be extended to 5,000 feet, which airport officials said will improve safety and frequency of flights.

The Daily News Journal reported some residents near the airport are unhappy with the plan.

They believe any changes to the airport will result in increased noise and lower property values.
