Vanderbilt engineers and TVA officials have turned on both a wind turbine and solar panel project in West Nashville.
Located on one of the highest points in Nashville atop Love Circle, engineers expect about 30 kilowatt hours of power will be generated on a daily basis from the alternate energy sources.
The original plan was to turn the project on in October, but because of the current strong sun in the Nashville area, project leaders decided to begin ahead of schedule.
The wind turbine and solar panels will work in tandem, in an ongoing effort for a greener community.
