NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A man crashed his car after police said he and a passenger shot a BB gun at three people who were waiting at a public bus stop early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred along Dickerson Road around 1:30 a.m. when police said someone, later identified as Jonathan Polk, 19, drove by and started firing a BB gun.
Three people, Jessica Doyle, 25, Cynthia Maciaz, 40, and James Knight, 49, reported that they knew Polk from a recent incident in which they said he took Doyle's cell phone.
All three victims were struck by BBs but refused medical treatment.
Police were gathering information from the victims when they saw Polk driving by in the suspected vehicle, a silver Chevrolet Impala.
After he saw the police, Polk sped off, ran a stop sign at Joseph Avenue and Cleveland Street and struck a sport-utility vehicle.
Polk was taken into custody without further incident. A loaded BB gun was recovered from the Impala.
Polk is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, reckless driving and driving without a license. He is being held on $56,000 bond.
