CARTHAGE, TN (WSMV) -
A Lebanon teenager drowned Monday afternoon while swimming near a public beach at a lake in Smith County.
Officials said Patrick Masterson, 19, was with a group of friends when he went underwater at Cordell Hull Lake around 1:45 p.m.
The young man's body resurfaced several minutes later, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
No other details have been released.
Masterson attended high school in Lafayette and later moved to Lebanon.
