NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A driver was injured after she drove into the side of a west Nashville business Friday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 2 p.m. near the intersection of White Bridge Road and Charlotte Pike when the driver lost control and crossed five lanes of traffic before slamming into the Title Max building.

Witnesses were stunned the vehicle didn't hit any other cars at the busy intersection during afternoon traffic.

"Slammed on my breaks and slowed up," witness Billy Allen said.

Allen said the woman's car careened across the road right in front of him.

"Came this close to hitting me right on the side," he said.

The vehicle also narrowly missed Janey Street's vehicle.

"Thirty seconds difference, I would have been dead," Street said.

Libby Powell said she ran to the wrecked car to check on the woman inside.

"She was just scared and didn't know what happened. She said she blacked out," Powell said.

The woman only had a few scrapes in the wreck, but the building was left with a gaping hole that workers patched up with plywood.

First responders at the scene said the woman's vehicle hit a utility pole guy wire, which slowed the vehicle just enough for her not to be seriously injured in the building collision.
